A close friend of mine always carried a pepper spray for protection wherever she goes. I thought that it may be a good idea for me as well since I work as a caregiver and am out and about at all hours of the day and night.
One Sunday I decided to go out with the same friend in a mall close by. We spent the afternoon looking around and had supper before we both decided it was time we went home to our respective apartments.
There was a big man trying to break into my apartment when I got home that night. I am estimating he was more than 200 pounds.
When he took notice of me, he suddenly went after me. I constantly attach to my keys the Mace pepper spray with a hard case key chain which I bought in the online self defense store. So, I quickly dropped my shopping bags and got my keys.
Since it was late it was hard to see. There was a glow in the dark safety cap for the spray that made it very easy to spot and then use in the darkness.
Once I sprayed the Mace the man fell right to the floor and was motionless. There was a police man patrolling right after the incident so I was able to get his attention for him to come over.
The police man was very impressed with the Mace product I used. Right after the incident had occurred I found out the the trespasser had been drunk and did drugs that night before he tried to get into my apartment.
I never expected this self defense store product could really come handy one day and I am so thankful I listened to my friend's advice. I know that the pepper spray rescued me.
